Well I much prefer Marcus' sayings to Epictetus' today... :)
ReplyDeleteEach day we must live our lives ever mindful that this day could be our last. Would the words we have uttered, deeds we have done, actions that we have taken be our testimony of character in this life? May we all strive to live life mindful that each moment could very well be our last.
What would I do today if I really knew that it was my last? Would I stand, at the end, and whimper 'I don't want to go..' or would I calmly release my energy? And how would I spend my last day? I would tell my family and friends, one more time, what joy they have brought me, and offer them yet again, the perspective I have on life. This is what my life has been, and would be to the end.
